I have a smal and simple question.
Can anyone let me know the basic difference between DB2 on Z/OS and DB2 on
AS400(Iseries).
I have heard thet AS400 is similar to a mainframe but will there be any change
in the syntaxes etc etc..
Will the JCL run on AS400 or is there going to be a GUI interface on
AS400.

What training we should have on AS400 side for any Mainframe DB2 resource to
migrate to AS400 DB2 DBA?

Please provide me the information.
As400 is very different from s/390-z. The JCL equivalent in as400 are the CLP
(control language programs). In a CLP you can execute any of the 1500 commands
available.
In as400 just one experienced professional could be responsible, as I was in the
past, for all the tasks: system and database operation and administration,
programming and analysis. In as400 any programmer can create a table in
developement environment and it is very easy. But in s/390-z different
specialists are needed for each task, for intance, to create a table you need
the assistance of a dba.
Can I contact you by email for a related question?
Regards.
