Dear Mr. Stolze,<br />
<br />
since DB2 &gt;=v9.1 doesn't support the AIV extenders any more I downloaded
an old version of DB2 personal developers edition (version 8). According to the
DB2 AIV homepage it should be integrated to the personal developers edition, but
I can't find any db2ext command line editor.<br />
Can you give me a hint why I can't run / find the DB2 extender?<br />
<br />
Best regards,<br />

At the moment I'm doing my bachelor thesis and I have to evaluate CBIR
technologies. Since I evaluated oracle intermedia I also wanted to evaluate DB2
with AIV extender...<br />
but I'll talk to my supervisor if we can skip DB2 since I guess the results
won't be better than those of oracle (they provide pretty the same features as
much as I've seen).<br />
<br />
thanks for your reply,<br />
best regards<br />

I have no idea, sorry.

For what purpose do you want to use the AIV extenders?
This is 12 year old technology, which wasn't further developed on the past
years (which is why it was redrawn).

I agree: AIV and Oracle interMedia have largely the same functionality in
this area. There are already many such comparisons available. What you
could do is install DB2 V8 and the AIV extenders are bundled along with it:

p.s: Please don't post HTML code any longer. Thanks!
