There is now a Java-based tool to assist in determining appropriate
spatial index specifications for DB2 Spatial Extender and the Spatial
Support for DB2 for z/OS.

It is very similar to the Spatial Index Advisor (gseidx) shipped with
DB2 Spatial Extender but provides a GUI and also supports z/OS spatial
data. With the optional installation of the open source JFreeChart
package, you can graph the geometry size histogram data.
The recommendations of this index optimizer tool may be somewhat
different from those of the Spatial Index Advisor but shouldn't have any
