I'm having on-going issues backing up to a LTO4 drive in a HP MSL4048 tape
library.
I've had HP change the LTO4 drive, SCSI cable and SCSI Terminator to no avail.
I've using the HP hplto.sys driver on my LTO4 drive.
I'm using new HP branded tapes.
I've applied the MS Hotfix 946647.
I can backup about 5gb of data then I get the following error message:
------------------------
Event Type: Error
Event Source: DPM-EM
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1
Date: 11/04/2008
Time: 12:34:22
User: N/A
Computer: xxxx
Description:
The back up to tape job failed for the following reason: (ID: 3311)
DPM encountered a critical error while performing an I/O operation on the
tape in Drive Hewlett Packard LTO Ultrium-4 drive (HU18061B9B). (ID: 30101)
--------------------------
It doesn't look like a problem with tape spanning as it's only backing up
4gb before failing.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
Thanks

Is anyone from MSFT looking at this issue? I need to get a fix ASAP as I
need to get backups off to tape.
Thanks
