best way to reformat an external drive to raw

I am learning the DPM and understand that the disks must be in raw form for
it to utilize the space available.

It is understood that I will have t remove the external FreeAgent Pro drive
from the group and then reformat to raw and then set it up again as a
resurce. But how to reformat?

What is the best way to an eSata external drive to raw format for use by DPM?

If I understand correctly what you're saying; I think all you'll need to do
is remove any and all volumes that currently exist on the disk(s).

Using Disk Management in the Computer Manager, find the drive you trying to
make "raw" and remove any volumes you see on it. Then do NOT put any
more
volumes back on it. The disk should have just one big area label
"Unallocated".

Derrick

Thanks. I took a leap just before receiving your message and removed the
volumes on the drive in question. That was it. Thanks again for getting
back to me.
