| Application doesn't launch 1st time in Vista |

Hi all,
Not sure where to post this so I'll start here :}
I have an app compiled in BDS2006 that is uses ADO against a SQL Server.
Works perfectly in XP. When tested against a new laptop with Vista on it,
however, it exhibits the following behavior:
Launch the app - nothing appears to happen but when you check in Task
Manager for running processes, the app did indeed launch and is running.
Double-click the shortcut again and everything runs perfectly well - except
that the first instance of the app is still eating up 50% of the machine
resources.
If you kill the first instance prior to launching the second one, everything
works perfectly well again and the system resources are right where you'd
expect them to be.
If you wait more than a minute or so after killing the first instance before
launching the app for the second time then it treats it just like the first
one and it will only launch in the background.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get that first instance to actually
visibally launch?
