| Couple of issues in M3 RC3 |

I see the full release of M3 is now out. Did not have time to test
these yet in it... I have been on a client site with no NNTP access,
so I have to wait till I am home to post. All on WinXP SP2 (Core2Duo
CPU, 4GB of RAM, over 2GB free, CPU idling in the 10% range) , with C 32
4.91SP4 against eDir 8.8.1 with FT2.
1) Import schema not seeing new attribute initially. Might be sync
related. I added a new attribute, added it to my aux class, tried
importing schema about 10 minutes later, and it would not find the
attribute. It MUST be doing it live... The only thing I can think of
is if the sync server to server in the tree is slow, but Schema should
sync immediate as soon as you make a change, shouldn't it?
2) Weird lag when in Compare, and selecting send to eDir or Send to
Designer. (after already done the compare).
The compare itself seemed quite slow, but it is possible that was due to
a latency on the link issue. Two servers, one on site, one of site, but
the one on site is running the production eDir instance, and I do not
want to hammer that box. So the remote site has ok bandwidth, but lousy
(100-150 ms latency).
But the issue I am complaining about is once the slow compare is done,
and I have the summary page up. I read, decide which way to go, and
click on Update eDirectory, the lag between my clicking and the icon
changing, is shockingly long. (Ok, not absolutly long, but from an
interface perspective, feels really laggy!) This should not be latency
related, since everything at this point is local on my box.
3) Comments in Filter (awesome!) Can we make it remember the column
width, or default to wider?
I love the comments! Great addition! Next, can we make the column
width for the schema attribute name remember where it was, or default to
something wider? Comments will never fit on one line, since by
definition comments should be descriptive, but I need to read the
attribute name every time.
I usually find my schema naming is something like:
3 or 4 chars of company name (acme, nov, abc etc)
3-5 chars for application name (JDBC, AD, APP)
then a descriptive add on to describe it that can be any length.
So at least 10 chars minimum for any schema add on I make. Would be
nice if the column width defaulted wider than it is now.
4) Replace All with Space as value is lost on edit. Replace all / // or
the like becomes /// once you touch it with the editor, but the data in
the XML is still right.
This one I have seen for a while. I need to replace all spaces with
nothing. So I can enter that successfully and see the replace token
with the correct values (" " and then "").
But as soon as I go back to Arguement builder to edit it, and touch it,
the Replace field lost the space character, and if I save, it stores it

On point 2, it is taking close to 5 seconds each time I click on an
Update eDirectory button!! Very odd!

I am been attempting to duplicate this problem. I see where arg builder
removes the space when you return to arg builder and click on the Replace
All token in the expression area. But I haven't figured out how you are able
to save the arg builder after the space is removed. For me, either the
finish button is always grayed out or I have to enter the space again before

Ya, I see I exgagerated the issue. Regardless, the space goes away when

I agree. I logged a bug for this issue.
