Schema and Filter view error

Hi 
I'm running Designer on a Windows 2000 SP4 desktop and am having
problems displaying driver filters and schema mappings. The XML views
are fine but the graphical views just don't appear at all. This happens
on all versions of Designer 2.x and 3Mx.
Any ideas why and what can be done?
