For information, I've translated the product info page into French.

Hi,
Local Cooling is installed on my PC, turn off the screen and shutdown the unit
according to the settings, so I can say yes.
I can also add that the setup works fine and until now, I got no crash.
About your French, it's nice to read an Australian person who writes in French.
For improving your French, a more correct sentence could be:
Bonjour, l'idée de fond semble bonne mais fonctionne-t-il bien ?

So asides from making you feel good about switching your monitor to power save

Yes, it does, for example you can:
adujst the settings to shutdown the PC instead of just entering in sleep mode.
see an estimate of the energy you saved.
show a detailed view of the main PC components power usage.
disable the automatic shutdown if a specific application is running.
All this in a very user friendly interface, showing your ranking if you choose
to join the Local Cooling Project Communauty.
