An article on CNET this morning says that Microsoft is planning to release
Windows Mobile 6 (formerly Crossbow) at the 3GSM trade show in Barcelona on
Monday. Windows Mobile 6 includes
Improved search and type-ahead features (enter the first couple characters of a
search string and Windows Mobile will begin searching for you)
Improved security
Enhanced integration with Windows Live services
Here's a clip: "Among the most visible changes is the ability to type in a
few letters of a song, contact or e-mail subject and have the phone
automatically show only matching results. The software also supports HTML
e-mail. But for Exchange messages to be viewable in that form, a company also
has to have Exchange 2007, the new version of Microsoft's e-mail server
software.
Windows Mobile 6 also builds in support for Windows Live instant messaging and
e-mail, which enables users to see whether a contact is online and to get their
Hotmail or Windows Live Mail messages pushed down automatically."

Certainly the best feature of WM6 is the HTML email. Unfortunately, while you
can read such messages and the formatting even appears when you hit
"reply", there's no way to edit a message with HTML formatting. The
email reply editor doesn't support the formatting. I even tried copying
formatted text from the quoted part of the reply and pasting it back into the
message, but the formatting is lost in that process.
Most of the changes relate to better "enterprise" usage such as
changing your "out of office" status, setting flags on email messages
(as can be done with the desktop Outlook), etc.
There's also support for viewing Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, and editing
Word and Excel on the Smartphone. (Previously, these features were only
available on the Pocket PCs.)
I have a more detailed review in the next issue of Smartphone and Pocket PC
Magazine. Of course, there's been LOTS of blogs that have been leaking
pre-release info, to my article may not seem like news by the time you read
it.
