Digital SLR: What kind of travel bag?

Digital SLR: What kind of travel bag?
Thu, 8 Mar 2007 03:07:39 +0000
I'm going to be making my 1st trip abroad with my new digital SLR.

Since I also have a briefcase and a Tablet PC as carry-on luggage, I want to ask
Hivers (sounds cool!) what they use on trips.

the airlines here allow one carry on and one personal item. you may
be asked to check the briefcase (if you are indeed saying the tablet
is separate). I have an Ogio backpack - it's similar to
http://www.ogio.com/product.php?product=273&nav=0 but older. I can
stuff my purse in the zip compartment while I board the plane.

My favorite camera bag for a digital SLR is a LowePro slingshot

have the Slingshot 200 because I have a bit more gear, but it's basically the
same thing. I usually carry it on the plane, put it in the overhead area then I
carry my laptop bag and keep it under the chair. Jason

I know that now about larger capacity. Then again I was coming from a
point-and-click world, and my 1999-era Nikon SLR bag seemed dated.

I scored was given a 75-300mm zoom lens by my brother (still trying to get a
Speedlite flash unit from him), and found that with that lens alone, the bag
already seems tight.

I like the bag, though a fat guy man of some girth going around with a backpack
is kinda you know.....

I might just spring for a larger model if I schneider my Bro' and make a
decision on whether to get a Canon-brand or generic (Opteka) battery grip for my
XTi.
