    Firefox should no longer have any problems accessing SSL sites in HEAD.

    I am recommending a full buildworld/buildkernel/installworld/
    installkernel sequence.

    If you don't want to do all of that then recompile the kernel and 
    recompile and reinstall libthread_xu.
