I heard this story on Marketplace last night...about a new viral marketing
campaign from Microsoft to get people interested in Windows Live Search.
The site is Ms Dewey, and the main character is a beautiful, "sassy"
librarian who personally answers the questions you type in the search box. She
also is a bit on the harassing side...if you don't enter a question soon enough,
she "knocks" on your monitor and says, "Hello?! Type something
here!" or when you type something she doesn't recognize, she says,
"So, what--are you getting your dog to type for you now?" This is done
with hundreds of clips of real video (which, according to Windows Live"
Buzz Marketing Manager Sean Carver, didn't necessarily all get passed by
Microsoft legal).
Here's the link to the clip on Marketplace, and here's where you'll find Ms
Dewey.

That's really really really really tacky in a late 90's kinda way.....
I see things that are supposed to be funny yet i'm not laughing, eg when she
says safety first and unravels roll of condoms.
