Unable to install Microsoft Math 3.0

Unable to install Microsoft Math 3.0
Fri, 30 Nov 2007 12:31:00 -080
I am attempting to install Microsoft Math 3.0 but running into an error.
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as
part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel
or package vendor." There is nothing to uninstall (in COntrol Panel) and
every attempt to reinstall fails the same way.

Here is the event log entry:

The hour+ I spent on the phone with the Microsoft support desk didn't help.

I am running Windows XP SP2. Is there a way I can get this installation to
work?

Thanks for any help,

I am getting the exact same error. Math was working for me until this week.
Then it started asking me to activate every time I tried to launch it. The
activation would succeed, but Math would never launch. So I tried to unistall
and reinstall. Now I am getting the Windows Installer package error.

Have you found a solution to this problem?

Thanks,

Mark
