I am using Encarta Reference Library 2005 Premium (updated) on a WXP
Professional computer with EDICT.EXE triggered at startup. More often than
not, when I click on the Dictionary icon & either enter a word or select a
word from the matching list, I get "The address is not valid" in the
definitions pane. I end up having to launch Encarta in order to get the
spelling or definition I'm looking for. Is this normal behavior?

I have solved my own problem. At bootup, Encarta Dictionary installs "EDict
Home" with the address "res://edictres.dll/23/EDict_Home.htm" in
the
Temporary Internet Files folder (perhaps acting as an environment variable?).
If you delete this file, then you must first launch Encarta in order to use
the dictionary.
