Help! Audio levels differ on DVD, but are from same source!

I'm making a showreel, but when i burn a DVD from Encore the audio levels are
off even though it is referencing the same media. This is happens in every Menu
& Submenu on the disc.
Example:
User selects "Play all" and audio is soft, but select any of the
individual spots and the audio is hot. While the "Play All" is a
different timeline from the Individual timelines, they are referencing the exact
same .m2vs. Can someone shed some light on this?

Thanks for the response. No, the audio from the "Play All" & the
Individual tracks reference the exact same ac3 file in the project, but play
louder/softer in different timelines.

In Encore CS3, when a timeline contains multiple clips in an audio track, the
entire audio track is decompressed into a single file, then re-transcoded to
AC3. This keeps the audio downstream in sync, and I suspect there is level
averaging in this algorithm as well.

There are a couple of ways to avoid what you are seeing (other than remixing
your audio in your NLE or audio editor):

1. Use a single timeline for the play all part containing all the clips with a
chapter at the beginning of each new clip (Encore does this automatically when
you drag a clip into a timeline), then use a chapter playlist for each clip
(chapter) in the timeline that you want to play individually. Link the other
menu buttons to each chapter playlist

2. Avoid a multi-clip timeline, and instead use individual timelines as you did
previously. Use a playlist (not chapter playlist) to play the timelines in the
order you want. There will be a pause between each timeline played back.
