Fellow NCOR Gurus,
I am having a problem with replace asset where audio is concerned. I created a
dvd that was about 2 hours long. The dvd has been mass replicated and all is ok.
Now the client would like the mix adjusted. As I export my files from an avid
and have sorenson squeeze create the mpv and wav files, I figured I would just
adjust the mix, export the audio from avid as an aif as usual and have sorenson
squeeze the new wav file out for ncor, replace assets on the project for the
audio track only and viola, ready for duplication.
Unfortunately, that is not how is worked out. The audio is in synch at the
beginning and at the end, but almost smack in the middle it is out of synch for
about 6 minutes.
I have done replace assets for much shorter clips of video successfully, but
never for audio and certainly not for a clip this long.
I am next going to try transcoding the video and the audio and see if that
helps, hopefully I will not have to re-chapter the timeline or replace the video
assets as well as I fear moved i-frames due to retranscoding.
Any input?
Jonathan Donley
