why the heck https sites crawl

It is a general observation that https sites crawl on any browser, not 
just in ff. What is the reason for that?

Is there any way that by adding it somewhere on a trusted site of 
allowing popup or allowing javascript etc, I may achieve it to move faster?

Any addon related to that? Any other software to help in that? Any 
firewall setting to help?
