Next in this useage is next batch.

Yes, go to the Account Settings dialog for the server account and on the
Server Settings tab make the change.

Have you tried toggling the the column header that you sort on to
reverse and back again. This helps resort the listing to move the recent
d/l into sort order. Only needs two clicks.

In the folder pane, select the group and right click to get a context
menu. Select Propereties and in that dialog select the tetention tab.
Now you can choose a new retention for the group that alters the server
default setting you made in the Account Settings dialog. If you don't
then WYSIWYG and the current 7 day rule will be applied.

ff3b3.
I needed to see some old message of this ng today so I downloaded old
messages by File - download next 50 messages several times.
1. Why is it "Next"? Shouldn't it be "previous" 50
messages?
2. Is there any way I could temporarily change that 50 to 100, 200 or
more so that lot of messages get downloaded in one go? If it uses the
setting of download size for new messages, that is OK at 50. Only for
old messages I want that to be 200 or a larger size so that I don't need
to do that many times.
3. When it downloads old messages, it lists them in the bottom of the
top right header pane. I need to manually rearrange them in my
old-messages-at-top. Why can't it list them at proper sorted place as
per my current order?
4. when id downloads message (whether old or newest), it showed the
threads compressed and I need to expand them manually. When I am working
in expand all threads mode, why can't it keep them expanded?
5. I noticed that downloaded old messages were in green for single
message thread and brown for multiple message thread (compressed) and
even after I "marked the newsgroup read", the color remained green for
the first message of each thread, that disturbs my understanding as I
have put my own messages to red (to notice them quickly, thru a filter),
and now these remained green. Seems a bug.
6. Once I expanded threads by hitting *, hitting / is not compressing
the threads at all. View - Threads - compressed thread is working but /
is not working either on main keyboard or in right numeric keypad. A bug?
7. It downloads old messages and if, for any reason, I go to some other
folder, and come back to ff folder, it duly compresses the folder as per
my setting of keep only last 7 days messages, so all those downloaded
messages are gone. When I have manually downloaded them, should it keep
them for some time or till I manually delete them? I mean there should
be a way not to let it do it automatically and I need to download all of
them again in the lots of 50.
thanks.

On 12.04.2008 17:43, CET - what odd quirk of fate caused Ron K. to
