| URL bar - History - Toggle off |

Is there anyway I can turn (toggle) off the URL history bar. I do not
want Fx to search my history and offer me a previously used URL when I
start to type a new URL into the bar.

You don't indicate which version of Fx you are running but in Fx 3 b5
(which I am running) you can type about:config in the address bar, then
in the filter, type browser.urlbar. You will find several entries there
which you can modify to meet your needs.

Yep 3.0b5, I applied the fix you supplied in the thread entitled:
How to delete URLs from Addressbar drop down
and reduced the .maxRichResults to 0 and all seems well now. This
setting was defaulted to 12 but when I clicked on the drop down arrow on
the URL bar the list went off the bottom of my screen so I might play
with it for a little while and see if its a reported bug or just one of
my extensions mucking things up
