I cannot get a unc file link to work in Firefox 2.0 I have followed
the instructions at:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_don't_work
and added the necessary info to the user.js file and then tried add it
to the prefs.js file when that didn't work. I am using the correct

Did your write the CAPS policies with a listing off all the sites which
you are removing the security limits? I have been using a CAPS over
ride in Tbird so I do know the additions to user.js do work. The CAPS
are common core code, so my Tb experience is valid. As you state, the
UNC conversions of local file paths do look correct when compared to the
Kb page.
How about pasting in your reply the lines from your user.js that you
wrote to set up your CAPS policy.

That's a lot of '/'s. :-)
Which users do you have in mind of and what links do you want them to visit?
