It worked... until now. Once more, no map. Sadly, this solution which
once brought me joy, does not now.
I would much prefer not to, but I'm thinking of switching to IE, where
Google maps work fine. Please don't let it reach that point.
Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

Make sure that JavaScript is turned on, though if it were off
you would get a message saying your browser is not supported
they could have done better than that.
Try clearing your cache
Make sure about:config value for
permissions.default.image is 1
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Permissions.default.image
This one was really mentioned because you may be more
sensitive now to Google not working without noticing other sites
with problems.

Don't know what your problem is, but I use Google maps daily with FF and
have never had an issue. If you're going to use IE, wear garlic around

Google maps works fine in Firefox, at least here it does. If you have
Flashblock turned on, then Streetview won't work. I suspect that if you
have javascript turned off, that it won't work then either.
