A question about FF3b5

A question about FF3b5

Has anyone else had trouble with slow 'select all' (control-a) on this
release? It seems to take up to 2 minutes to do a select all on a long
text documents (1 meg). This causes some delays when I download and
save long fanfiction stories.

Hi Mortman,
It is something common to many applications and if there is a shortcut
in another application that does has that shortcut it is generally going to
be made the same as what people are used to, so a lot of applications
many of the same shortcuts and the good ones can all be done with
the left hand.

Hi Ron,
I can't imagine Ctrl+A using a lot of memory. I suppose it might
be saving a formatted and a plain text version to the clipboard(s),
though until you commit it to the clipboard (Ctrl+C) that shouldn't matter.

What is your cache size and what is the url of a page that takes you
a long time. ???? Have you tried running in Safe Mode, which
disables Themes and Extensions. If you have the keyconfig extension
do you see anything else also assigned Ctrl+A How many tabs do
you have open, certainly not be the time to have 50 tabs open with
large page sizes.

My machine has 2 GB memory, my firefox.htm page is
395.02 KB (404,503 bytes) as seen in Tools, Page Info.
My cache is 200MB (Tool, Options, Advanced, Network).
More complete information on my system can be seen at

of course I might have pointed you to a different page describing
my system had you included FF3b5 in the text body. The subject
is not part of the question.
