Movies & TV shows on Xbox Marketplace

Movies & TV shows on Xbox Marketplace

I was checking out the latest on the Xbox site tonight and discovered that Xbox
Live Marketplace now has videos, trailers, and TV shows (including content from
Comedy Central) available for download to the Xbox 360. Has anybody here tried
that yet?

Yup. That's been in effect since earlier this year, and quite slick. The
original announcement was here:
http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2006/nov06/11-06TVMovieDeliveryPR.mspx

which gives the lineup (CBS, MTV, and various movie studios). There is
information on the current offerings here:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/marketplace/moviestv/?WT.svl=nav and, of
course, within the Xbox 360 dashboard under Marketplace.

It won't take off here, primary reason being the most popular isp's largest plan
without excess usage charges of $150 a Gb (yes you read right AUD$150 a gb) is a
really really poor 10gb a month for $70 on cable ($60 if you have phone with
them) and about $100 for ADSL.Microsoft needs to get in here and add presure to
telstra else their vision of a "connected" world is going to fail
miserably.
