| eDir will not start - IDM driver error |
 |
Fri, 09 May 2008 20:53:10 GMT |
On my test vault server (OES2 - Linux), eDir will not start anymore. It
was working fine yesterday, but today - no luck. I manually start ndsd
and get errors that eDir isn't listening on TCP or TLS Ports. I take a
look at the ndsd.log file and get a Java HotSpot error report file of
hs_err_pid####.log file.
Looking at that log file, it looks like one of my eDir2eDir drivers
isn't starting and that it is stopping edir from loading.

Is there anyway to set this driver to a manual start instead of auto in
a file somewhere so I can see if eDir will startup then.
Thanks,

Find the 'libvrdim.so' file and rename it to 'libvrdim.so.bak' and then
try again. You may also need to do the same with 'libdxevent.so' but I
don't think so. Anyway, give it a shot.
Good luck.

Apply this patch:
'eDir cores when starting IDM on OES 2 due to a problem with SS205'
To start up eDir stop the driver on the other side.

Renaming libvrdim.so to libvrdim.so.bak allowed me to restart edir. By
renaming that, what am I "breaking" to allow edir to start.
Thanks,
Mike

You have just disabled the IDM engine entirely. So, what did you do to
break it? You could reinstall to see if that fixes it but something
about your IDM setup is quite broken. Have you recently added any
RADIUS stuff to your eDir environment? Any other SPs or changes made?
Good luck.
