| 3.5.1 to 3.6 Upgrade Issues |

I wanted to test upgrading a 3.5.1 UserApp to 3.6. So I built a
completely new test environment, new tree, new IdM engine. I then
exported my 3.5.1 UserApp to a config file and imported it into my new
3.6 environment. I then did a Migrate to migrate it to the 3.6
version. Everything deploys fine and I see all my PRDs, but I'm having
a heck of a time getting them to work. It seems that anything with a DN
Lookup errors out with the following error:
2008-05-06 14:25:49,292 ERROR
[com.novell.srvprv.impl.vdata.model.VirtualEntityDefinition:getAttribute]
Error occurred, the Virtual Entity Definition Attribute key (object
attribute name) was null
I'm not entirely sure what that means. I did try putting on the 3.6.0
B Patch, but it still happens whenever I click the magnifying glass on
a DN control.
Has anyone seen this? Is it due to the way I migrated/upgraded? Any
way to fix? Thanks.

Is your test environment configuration in 3.6 the same as it was in 3.5.1? Are
you using the same eDirectory tree setup as was in 3.5.1? It looks like the
mappings for the DN controls cannot find the data. |

Hi Mat,
did you check the properties for the DNLookup fields in your forms, do you have
a valid entity key and display expression ?

FYI,
This problem ended up being a bug in the "Perform Automatic Query"
selection on entities in the DAL. The latest 3.6 patches have a fix for it.
