Using IB2007 developer edition on windows vista business edition i get the
following error from gbak
unknown win32 error (2) from gbak : unable to connect to labene-server
when i try to recover an archive i have created in \\labene-server\archive.
(a network-share on a windows 2003 server). First i could not create the
archive with a similar error. Then i realised i had to change the
ib-server-service user account to a user with access rights on the network
share. After i changed the serviceaccount from system to a user with read -
write rights on the networkshare create journal archive in isql and
gbak -archive_journals worked fine. I can recover the archive without
problems when i create it on a local drive, so this should not be any gbak
syntax problem. Since i am able to create the archive on the share and
archive the database and journals to the share, i do not understand why it
seems i have not enough rights to be able to recover from the share.
Thanks,
Michael

Forgot to say: i use IB - Servicepack 2, and tried the same with IB - trial
version with the same result. So it does not seem to be a limit in the
developer edition.
