I don't know the cause, but I am discovering the same messages in our
interbase.log file. It sounds like we have a similar setup. Ours is
IBServer (7.5) on XP or 2000 server. Apps on server connect via
localhost and remote apps oviously use serverName:C:\....\database.ib

We have several entries in the log with 10054 error. I tried to find
what this error means, and best I can figure is some kind of network
controller error. But the odd thing is this error has been occurring
on several different test systems, so it seems more like a software
issue than hardware. We have never used a TCP connection until
recently, so there may be a chance that this kind of thing happens all
the time and you have to design around it but I hope not. Maybe one of

Unable to complete network request

Hi,

I have a Win 2003 server running Interbase dual processor server license and
an application connecting to 127.0.0.1:\. . . .\data.gdb. The reason for
not using a local connection is that it's clashing with Remote Desktop.

A different application running on a different computer connects to the
Interbase server ok but several times a day the following error message pops
up:
Unable to complete network request to host "IBASESERVER:3050"
Error reading data from the connection.
Unknown Win32 error 10054.

After restarting the application it's all good for a while. Anyone seen
this before?

cheers,
