That is not correct. Each additional processor requires a processor
license. A dual core processor requires a core license (less expensive
than a processor license) to use both cores.

Interbase New Licensing?

Hello,

I went to purchase a new installation of Interbase for a customer online
yesterday and it appears the licensing is now changed. And I like it! No
more processor licenses.

Here is the question I have a few sites runnning IB2007 on a dual processor
machine with only 1 processor license. Is it possible to now have it use
both? What do I need to do to take advantage of this.

Thanks You for Your Time,
Todd

Bill,

This is a quote form the codegear website and you can no longer buy
processor licenses online. Am I missing something?

You may recall that a few weeks ago I posted a message here indicated
there are new SKUs available. These new SKUs include for up to 8 Cores
(or 4 Dual Cores) with a Server license. The old SKUs are still
available, but they are not worth your money to purchase. Given your
description here, you have two possible solutions:

1. Purchase Additional CPU license: $1000
2. Purchase SMP Server with 1 User License : $200
(all prices USD, prices may be different in other countries)

Obviously, option 2 is the way to go. You'll have another server license
to boot.
