The minimum speed depends on what you are doing and what level of
performance is acceptable. However, that is not the only issue.
1) The data stream between the client and the InterBase server is not
encrypted.
2) Exposing your database directly to the Internet is risky.
For security you need a VPN or a secure tunnel such as ZeBeDee. A
better solution is to set up a Windows Terminal Server and let remote
uses run the application across the Internet by connecting to the
terminal server using remote desktop. That works I have a client that
did that over a 128k ISDN line for a couple of years until he could get
a broadband connection.

Hi
What minimum internet speed needed in order to connect client application to
the interbase database server through internet connection like (ADSL).
Can 128K give me a good performance.

Thanks Bill Todd.
I go to this solution; remote control. I use a program called : 2X, it is
remote application, it send just the application picture not the whole
desktop. (http://www.2x.com)
