I can't get Interbase 7.5.1 to work after install..

I installed BDS 2006 in december last year, but never installed IB 7.5 since 
I wanted to use my old IB 6.5 version.
However, now when I decided to move up a notch, I installed IB 7.5 from the 
BDS2006 installation discs.
But when I try to start IB 7.5 (Guardian service) I only get an error 1067 
dialog.. (Couldn't start the service Interbase 7.5 Guardian gds_ib on local 
machine)
When I first installed IB 7.5 I still had 6.5 installed, and the 
installation got screwed up.
But after uninstalling IB 6.5 and cleaning in the registry and directories I 
tried again to installed IB 7.5, but I still get the same 1067 error..

I am using Windows XP SP2 with 2GB RAM

What can I do to make this work?

The Interbase "install.log" file has the following lines at the
bottom:

Could not Self-Register: C:\Program\Borland\InterBase\bin\ib_util.dll
Could not Self-Register: C:\WINDOWS\system32\gds32.dll
Could not Self-Register: C:\Program\Borland\InterBase\bin\gds32.dll

BTW. It's funny that the Interbase.log file tells me to check the 
interbase.log file.. :-) Circle reference

Based on the error message in interbase.log I would clear the read only
property on borland.lic then uninstall and reinstall.
