You may want to go to the registered users page and download the new
Data Direct ODBC driver.

I've seen similar behavior with the server install, but not the EasySoft
install. The EasySoft install was not written by us and we are not
contracted with EasySoft any longer. As has been suggested by Bill Todd,
your best bet is going with the Data Direct driver. That is our ODBC
solution going forward.

InterBase 7.1 OBDC driver install infinite loop

I have an older Windows 2003 server still running InterBase 7.1 and I'm
currently rebuilding it. I've reinstalled an updated InterBase server
(7.5.1.162) with no problem and I'm trying to install the free Easysoft OBDC
driver from the original InterBase 7.1 installation disk. After the Easysoft
portion of the driver installation completes, the InterBase portion
continues, saying something about registering the drivers on the system. At
this point, a console window appears that seems to be stuck in an infinite
loop, attempting to delete directories located on the installation disk that
don't exist (D:\Drivers\Windows\lm_loader\bin and
D:\Drivers\Windows\lm_loader). This action obviously fails, but the console
window keeps trying to perform the deletion forever. I am forced to kill
this window, at which point the installation window says that the driver
installation has completed successfully. The driver seems to work fine, so I
don't think the driver installation failed, but I'm just wondering if
there's some way to avoid having to manually close the looping console
window in order for the installation to succeed.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys. I was hoping you would come out with another free ODBC driver.
I installed it smoothly and I'm rerunning all my tests with the new driver.
They all seem to be working fine. Awesome!
