Is there any way to install Interbase Server and Client on
a USB flash drive (not the boot drive), and run it from there?
The reason I am asking is that it would be nice to run an app
from the flash drive, with minimal intrusion on the host computer.
Thanks for any insight!

Putting the database on a flash drive is no problem. Putting IB on a flash
drive is a problem because InterBase expects to find entries in the
registry that identify the location of the IB root directory, among other
things. You could create the registry entries but there is no guarantee
that the flash drive will be assigned the same drive letter each time it
is plugged in.
