How do we repar/re-install a "corrupted" IE6-sp2 on WinXP SP2?
We are having a problem with IE6 SP2 on Win XP SP2. We suspect a corrupted
component. We want to re-install just IE6 SP2 on CP-SP2. We may not have a
CD with Win XP SP2 available - either as an initial install CD or as an
upgrade CD. We do have a folder with the full I386 and subfolders for the
WinXP-SP2 upgade available on our HDD - C drive. We did attempt to
re-install by using the ie.inf file to trigger an installation, but the
installer got "stalled" when copying "Iexplore.ex?" to the
"C:\program
files\Internet Explorer" folder.

Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components and uncheck the box
Internet Explorer. Reboot. Same thing only put the check back in the box.
