error in web page "Gecko_Bogus"

error in web page "Gecko_Bogus"
Tue, 1 Apr 2008 16:32:04 -0500
     Hi all,
I could use alittle help here, my wife is taking classes at the University of
Phoenix (their tech dept. was of no help, surprise). Anyway for about three
weeks now she cannot reply to her classes, the interface for the class is a web
page which resembles a word doc. when she tries to reply a error pops up which
says "GECKO_BOGUS" is undefined.
This does not happen when using the laptop so I don't believe its the website,I
have restored the computer with an image I had before this started to occur-no
help.
Running XP home w/SP2 and IE6.
TIA

Is the machine fully patched at Windows Update?

Is she accessing the web-page using IE or Firefox, Netscape, AOL Browser,
etc.?

Huh?

My confusion over your last post notwithstanding...

See if one or more of the enabled Add-ons (Tools > Manage add-ons) might be
causing the problem. "Gecko" points to a Mozilla-based layout engine:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gecko_(layout_engine). If she's not using a
Mozilla-based browser, the layout engine may be used on the UofP web-page.

Last time I checked, UofP classes used a newsreader to access/reply to
online classes: https://ecampus.phoenix.edu/support/tutorials/ols/

=> Is Outlook Express enabled in Start | Settings | Control Panel |
Add/Remove Programs | Add/Remove Windows Components?

=> Is MS Office and/or MS Outlook also installed on the machine?

[To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you include all of previous
message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup. Thank you.]

Sorry for any confusion, I have already disabled all add-ons in IE no help,
and yes MS Office is installed.
UofP has merged with other Universitys so now some classes are using a
newsreader while others use a web interface.
This machine hasent had a mozilla browser for some time,I might give FF a
try.
Thanks for your help.
