Everytime I want to shut my pc off, I get an error message that iexplore.exe
is not responding and I click on "end now", but I just keep getting
the same
error. I went to add & remove programs to repair IE6 and it is not listed.
Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this problem? Thank you!!

Do a thorough check for malware, following all of the steps at one of these
Web pages.
Help with malware:

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing programs like Messenger Plus,
whose ads for malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince
you that you owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom
and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

Thank you, Frank, for your help. Yesterday I ran Trend Micro Housecall and
deleted a lot of problems and my pc seemed to run better after that, but then
today I was right back to the same problem. I did dl Window Defender and just
finished running it and they found no problems. I will continue to try your
other suggestions and hopefully get this problem fixed. Thank you, again. I
appreciate your help.
