Cannot view certain websites

Cannot view certain websites
Wed, 12 Mar 2008 21:25:15 -070
Hi All,

I am having troubles viewing many websites. In the status bar, it just says
"Waiting for ..." It seems to be random. When I did a search for
this
through Google, I could only open 2-3 websites to try to fix the problem
(with no avail).

I have ran virus scanners (AVG), spyware (Spybot).

I am running a linksys router, but it makes no difference if I bypass it or
not. Also, my wireless laptop is having the same problems with the same
sites.

Desktop is XP, Laptop is Vista.

Thanks
Chad

Also, when I click on Diagnose Problem, it comes up with no errors.

[Crossposted to IE General]

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed? What
anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall
(if any)?

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
