Right-click on the IE shortcut icon and select the Start without add-ons
option. You can then manage which add-ons are enabled, in Tools | Manage
Add-ons, after you've started IE7. If this solves your problem, enable
add-ons one at a time, testing as you go, until you find the culprit.

I have no add ons what I have done is uninstall ed IE7 and IE6 has same
problem Im afraid to play with this browser anymore have disable phisher have
tried different zip software and get the same result tried to uninstall
updates and this didnt work its like explorer no longer recognizes zip files
not all but others in my office have the same problem I think it might have
something to do with the security updates but cant isolate the problem not
willing to sacrifice the whole OS
forced to use different browser as none of them have any problems and we
here funtion on forum and survive on zip files. also others all over US and
Canada are having to use different browsers.
