installing foundation2005 on XP Media Edition
9 Dec 2006 08:36:04 -0700
I am having problems installing Foundation 2005 on a Compaq Presario notebook
with Windows XP Media Edition. I have tried the recommended troubleshooting
steps and am still unsuccessful.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

What I have tried (individually and in combinations):
- Installed the latest driver for my ATI Mobility Radeon display driver.
- Set hardware acceleration to NONE.
- Set Diagnostic Startup in msconfig.
- Updated various other Windows and HP software.
- Uninstalled the Java Runtime Engine.

Nothing has worked.

What happens:
- ZeroG installer comes up.
- Splash screen okay.
- Introduction screen comes up, but button graphics messed up.
- In License Aggreement, scroll bar, radio buttons, and buttons messed up.
- It continues this way until you select install. At that point it never comes
back.
- When you cancel out (which you can only do if you move the scroll bar on the
pre-installation screen), you end up with the following folders under c:
         Borland\JBuilder2005\jdk1.4
         Borland\JBuilder2005\UninstallFoundation

At that point, it will not allow me to delete those folders. The control panel
shows it as an installed program, but produces the following error when I
attempt to uninstall it:
     Invocation target exception

I would appreciate any suggestions for solving my problem.

Thank you,

At this point, the only thing I can suggest is that you contact ZeroG to
see if there are any known issues with their installer on XP Media Edition.
