Shhh. Not so loud. Some moron might come up with the stupid idea of making
CAD required to login...

Yes, Mandriva has driven me batty because they decided that alt-ctrl-del
should reboot, not shutdown. So if you change the line in /etc/inittab so
CAD shutsdown, that night it gets changed back. Idiotic for laptops.

I have to edit the /usr/share/msec files to "Fix" stuff.

Mandriva isn't the only one doing that stupidity. I'm told you can
remove the 'msec' security package to "fix" this problem, but I'm
sure
the updates will reinstall this "critical" application.

A friend set /etc/inittab so that the trap runs an audio that sounds
like a car alarm when someone tries that key pattern. The klown from
the local cable service was out to "fix" a modem problem, and
couldn't
get to a windoze boot screen no matter how he tried (my friend wasn't
home, and his non-techie wife was overseeing the service call). He
suggested that the box needed a reinstall as it obviously had something
terribly wrong with it, and inquired what version of windoze was
installed. X11? Isn't that from Apple?
