Decided to add, and use exclusively, the 686 kernel - been using the 486
- with appropriate nVidia Linux kernel support (2.6.18-6-686).

Because it's so sporadic I dunno if that'll catch it. However, I'll keep
it in mind should this kernel change not resolve the problem.
