I've just been trying the latest version on eCS media refresh. I end up
with an error - can't find Java. This isn't a problem with HDMAN, must
be an error in the media refresh. Can anyone tell me what settings
there should be for Java, using only the Inotek version that comes with
the eCS media refresh?

Hello Paul,
Seems to be a problem of the java configuration, in general Harddisk
Manager works with Innotek JRE. If the error comes while install then no
system JRE is specified. Check if you're able to run a java -fullversion
from a command prompt. If that doesn't work add path to the JRE to the
path statement in config.sys. The statement should be something like
this 'SET PATH = c:\java142\jre\bin'.

Thanks. That was it. For some reason, the media refresh is not putting
the path to the Java installation into CONFIG.SYS. I've fixed it and
reported it as a bug against the media refresh.
One other oddity. If I select the Maintenance and Installation Volume
Manager item from System Setup, I get the old version, not the new. If
I enter either 'java lvmgui' or just 'lvmgui' from a command line, I
get the new (much prettier) version.

I guess we're talking about two different things here. Is 'Maintenance
and Installation Volume Manager' the object for MiniLVM?
If this is true, you're running two different programs. MiniLVM does a
very good job at installation time, but has limited functionality. So if
you want to invoke Harddisk Manager you have to follow one of the four
startup ways I mentioned in the readme.
