http://www.ryanboston.com/Index.html

it's upper case Index which isn't on the normal list of default filenames.

I am new to this forum, and website design at that. I am in the process of
creating a personal portfolio website (www.ryanboston.com) and I am having
trouble accessing it through the net. I have uploaded all of file to server,
but when I initially access the site from the net I get a white screen that
says:

     * Index.html
     * Sustain.html
     * cgi-bin/
     * default.css
     * images/
     * personal.html

 Apache/2.2.8 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.8g DAV/2
mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at
ryanboston.com Port 80

 When I click on index it goes to the home page, and so on. How do I get the
site to go directly to the homepage when accessing it from the net?

That's odd, I haven't come across to many instances of Apache that don't render

index.html. Try renaming index.html to default.html and see if that works. If
that doesn't do it consult your web host perhaps?
