Stroke Turns Fuzzy when Cutting Object with Knife Tool

Hi all, I am trying to create some tabs in FW CS3. I use the rectangle tool
then adjust the radius to create the rounded rectangle. Then, I want to cut
off the bottom corners to create the tab so I use the knife tool to slice off
the bottom half. When I slice it, the stroke becomes fuzzy, it is no longer
hard. Any ideas?

The problem of a 1px stroke turning into a 2px blurry stroke is a common issue.

This article is a must read to understand how fireworks renders these type of
things:

The solution, after reading that article, is obviously to move the path nodes
to half pixels. You can do this by hand using the Subselect tool (select nodes,

move them) or in CS3 you can use Window > Other > Path, and look under
Points -
Edit for "Round Points to Half Pixels" (hove over the buttons to get a

tooltip.) That will round any selected points' positions to half pixels.
