This is a known issue on Mac OS X. If you enter *two* custom keyboard
shortcuts, the second shortcut will work. Likewise for show/hide guides and
snap to grids and guides.

Go to Edit>Keyboard shortcuts>Grid>Show. Assign a second keyboard
shortcut.
The second keyboard shortcut assigned will work. You *must* use the second
keyboard shortcut to show and hide guides. The first keyboard shortcut and
the menu commands will remain non-functional.
It's a conflict with Mac OS X.

Are you saying that View>Grid>Edit is not working? It's working fine
here.
