Dialog boxes

I'm using the same version of Freehand 10 on both of my Macs, both running 
10.4.11.  On one of my G4's none of the dialog boxes for tool operations opens 
up when I double click on the tool.  On the other computer this function works 
fine and I'm able to change the settings for the pencil and all the other 
tools.  Have any of you heard of this problem before?  If so, I'd appreciate 
your help.  Thank you.  Lynn

What sort of mouse or tablet pen are you using? Can you program it? If so,
check your double-click settings, and speed of double-click. Have you
accidentally enabled sticky keys in Universal Access system prefs?

Does double-click work elsewhere in FreeHand, such as double-click with
pointer in text block to insert text tool, or double click on style, color
and layer names to edit names?

Do you have a background utility running that could interfere with FH's use
of double-click?

 I'm having the same problem with my main Mac but not on my older one.  It just

started in the last few days and I haven't really done anything on the computer

BUT I did do a software update which I didn't do on my older Mac.  
 ????
