freehand mac problems

hi I just tried to install freehand mx 11.02 on my mac powerbook (10.5.2)
 the system tells me the program is installed but when I try to open it nothing

happens
 the logo appears in my dock but I get no menu.
 my force quit - tells me the program is open

 any suggestions

Have you done any recent system upgrades?

after about 5 installations it finally went through
I think it was something to do with installing while safari was open
