Drag & Drop question

Is it possible to drag and drop say from the windows desktop into the Flex 
application (the IE window per say) and is there a way for the Flex app to grab

those files parse their names and contents and send them over the network?

It is not possible to drag and drop items from the windows desktop into a 
Flex application (nor can you do this in a browser). We will be coming out 
with a desktop client called Apollo which will have more interaction with 
the desktop. Do a google search on "apollo flash player" to find out
more 
info.
