combobox in a datagrid

I am sure someone out there has placed a combobox in a datagrid, only i cant 
seem to find an example or documentation on how it is to be accomplished.

 I need to put a dropdown box in a datagrid.  The combobox should have the 
initial selected item as the value of the dataprovider for the datagrid in that

field.  And i should be able to take the selected item in the combobox and pass

it to the dataprovider/datagrid as a value to be posted in the database. 

 Anyone out there accomplish this?  The closest I've come is to begin work with

an itemeditor....
