I have entered over 50 pushpins to my may giving each of them a number. How
do I put the pushpins in numerical order after making changes to the list?

If you're doing this 'by hand' then the last edited pin goes to the top.
Obviously, this is mm ... undesireable with more than 7 pushpins.

If you'll export to excel,
set your desired order,
delete the existing dataset
and then import from the Excel sheet,
I think you'll get the order you want.

Using code, one can set the order very quickly.
Do you have staff that can program for you?

Hi

We do have an IT person here how does she go about doing as you suggest,
(Using Code)? Setting the program, is that not done from you end?

We are looking for an easier way of putting items in either numerical or
alpha order as we make changes on a daily basis. Going back and forth from
Excel is very time consuming.

Thank you.

Jan

Hi Jan,

I recommend using Access for small to medium-size projects.
For larger projects, VB and SQL-Server have worked well
together for many years. (Delphi, C#, etc, etc also)

As for code, she should iterate through each address or coordinate
using the AddPushpin method in the desired order. MapPoint has
an excellent programmer's reference under the Help menu for using
the object model.

She should visit www.mapforums.com also.
In case you have need, I do freelance work.
